Thanks for the update! Glad to hear our girl is still running strong. I'm really hoping she runs in the Beldame, which will be at her best distance.
ReplyDeleteBTW, the distance of her workout was 5 furlongs, and according to the NTRA site, her old exercise rider, Dominic Terry, was back riding her. Would love to hear from SA about that.
Dear Pixie:
ReplyDeleteOnce again, thanks for the updates. I also read that Dominic was back riding her--very interesting.
I hope we get an announcement soon--I have to make plans for that weekend!
You go, Rachel!!
Wonder who made that call - exercise rider change.....maybe trying to take the edge off and get her to rate was hurting more than helping. She ran 1 3/16 last yr with two weeks rest....maybe she needs that "edge" to run. Each horse is different. I look forward to seeing Rachel again...hopefully in the Beldame. Can hardly wait to she how she preforms...go Rachel and stay safe.
ReplyDeletethanks for the updates. Have you noticed in rachel,s races the more she is whipped, the slower rachel runs. many of us have noticed it. I am looking forward to her next race, but they need to take the whip away.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Rachel does NOT want that whip...she is so beautiful, charismatic ...stay safe Rachel
ReplyDeleteand Enjoy your workouts! We love you!
He whipped her 15 times down the stretch and he knew he didn't have any horse left. I think they should change jockey's. Mike Smith whipped Zenyatta 7 times in the B.C. Big difference. I think she has just been trained poorly, she is not handling the added weight from maturing to a 4 year old. Let the old trainer take over, he will get her back to the old Rachel.
